ABOUT ME in a few words
I am Julia Jakubiec, graphic designer. I am from St.Petersburg, Russia, but at the moment I live and work in my studio in Warsaw, Poland.
During the last 7 years I have worked in the advertising industry in Russia, Croatia and Poland.

Living abroad and working with the marketing departments of international corporations and major global advertising agencies have enriched my experience in marketing and advertising, providing me with a remarkable opportunity to see with my own eyes how the same marketing idea or concept works in different cultures.
During my professional career and my MBA studies at the University of Durham, UK I have learnt how to manage projects and essentials of business.
Whenever I would have thought about my own design company, naming it Julia Jakubiec Studio just always made me bored. I wanted the name to be different, show my character. Something catchy combined with a clear-shaped simple logo emblem, which would look great on all POS and at the same time express myself and …of course … bring a smile when people see it.
Luckily I am in the industry where a sense of humor about yourself and your company is more than appreciated. I love sea and everything with water, so a symbol of a fish in my favourite color seemed to be an ideal combination. The French article „le” in combination with the English word “Fish” usually makes people wonder and remember. Exactly what I wanted! Even at the tax inspection office where thousands of company owners come every day, they all remember my company’s logo and name.
My design philosophy has been formed as a result of the analysis of the multitude of advertising campaigns I had to work with during the years. I was always curious why some brands “work” and some don’t.
In each case, I would strip down each poster, logo design or the like to bare essentials and try to understand why this particular rebranding / advertising campaign / promotion was such a success or a failure, basically connecting the dots and finding similarities.
This all has found its shape in the simplicity of my designs which are always precisely targeted to their audience. You can have a look at a few very different examples from different countries in my PORTFOLIO.
Since design is a life learning process, I regularly read a lot of industry related material. Some of them I post in LE FISH BLOG.
I roughly divide all the material into: Advertising news (everything new and entertaining in the advertising industry from all over the world), Design Advice (for my clients to learn more about how to better plan their campaigns), and Interviews (of famous graphic (and not only) designers and marketing professionals).
The blog topic “Travel Inspiration” is particularly dear to my heart, because it gives me an opportunity though virtually, but to travel to different parts of the world.
Each project usually begins with an initial telephone or e-mail contact by a client. During which we discuss the project, its priorities and basic requirements.
The CASE STUDIES describe step-by-step the exact WORKFLOW with each client. I work with design briefs for Logo Design, Print Design, Web Design which help my clients sum their ideas up and also help me understand the direction of our work, make our interaction easier.
Usually after every project, I ask my clients to say a few words about me, which are compiled on the CLIENTS SAY page.
I am always happy to answer all your questions, project inquiries or just receive interesting information from you. Please, use the information on the CONTACT ME page to get in touch.
I speak English, Russian, Spanish, Croatian and Polish.
